Dancehall Workshop

We’re hosting a 4-class Dancehall workshop series with Jeff Jean-Phillipe to bring the heat this Spring!

Dancehall is a high-energy style of dance emanating from Jamaica. These workshops will be open to all experience levels, working on the basic moves and rhythms in the style.

$20 per class, or $65 for all 4 classes

About Jeff Jean-Phillipe: Jeff Jean-Philippe, a versatile artist, is quickly becoming one of New England’s premier Hip Hop educators and choreographers. Originally from Montreal, Quebec, and living in northern Massachusetts, Jeff’s passion for the art of dance grew quickly while studying under some of North America’s top and original Hip Hop teachers, including Amari Marshal, Super Dave, Jamar Hopkins, and Brian “Footwork” Green. His training in hip-hop and street dance culture is extensive and includes dancehall, break dancing, Chicago footwork, house, popping, locking, animation, whacking, Afro-house, Krump, and more.

Jeff has taught at a series of masterclasses, workshops, conventions, and colleges throughout the East Coast and Canada; Jeff also judges at various dance competitions and battle events. His high-energy classes strongly focus on Hip-Hop foundation, technique, and fundamentals keeping the essence of the culture and contemporary and modern elements. He is also the leading pioneer of a new form of Latin dance called, Kimpada, which is a fusion of Kizomba, Kompa, Bachata, and Zouk.

Jeff has performed with numerous local dance companies from Boston, in ballets, in commercials, and on tv shows (SYTYCD season 12, top 30), as a backup dancer, and in musicals. He Has recently been featured in music videos of big names such as the hip-hop artist Joyner Lucas and The legendary Dancehall artist Mr.Vegas. Jeff is the founder and director of his own hip-hop, contemporary/modern-focused company, The Expressive Movement, which recently toured the East Coast, Canada, and went international.

 Since opening his business, “Our Space” a holistic and multicultural Arts center, Jeff enjoys sharing his knowledge and passion for art, holistic wellness, and Afro-diosparic lineage, most importantly, guiding, coaching, and mentoring the health and wellness of all humans.
