Qigong starts
March 21, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Suzanne Sweeney offer this new course in Qigong at MAGMA, Thursdays 5:30-6:30pm.
Qigong is the foundation of martial arts and has its roots in Chinese Medicine and Taoist philosophy. Simply translated, qigong means cultivation of energy and the cultivation of the skill of moving energy. Abundant energy manifests in the body as high functioning organs, flexible muscles, supple joints, clear thinking, and balanced emotions.
A primary goal of Qigong is to strengthen the environment of the body, i.e., build life-force energy, improve the immune system, clear stress and tension, and increase circulation. With regular practice, Qi begins to flow smoothly through every part of your body.
Qigong imitates the movements of nature and is often considered a form of meditation.
It emphasizes the harmony and health of body, mind, and spirit. Qigong shifts your nervous system into the parasympathetic state, which is the state in which your body comes into balance, repairs, and heals making Qigong the perfect complement to your current exercise program.
Practicing Qigong will help you:
- Relax your mind and body to promote healing
- Move energy to where you need it most
- Improve balance, mood, and circulation
Among the many great things about Qigong are that anyone can do it and tremendous benefits can be realized with minimum time commitment.
Mind calm, heart open, body energized is the Qigong state of being.
