Children and Teen Dress Code
Young Movers Program (ages 5 and under)
Children can wear clothing they feel comfortable moving in. Socks, bare feet, or Ballet slippers are all acceptable on the feet. No street shoes are allowed in the studios. For Pre-Ballet, any color leotard w/ tights or leggings, or a dance dress may be worn, Ballet slippers recommended.
Children’s Dance Program (ages 6 and up)
Ballet
Boys and gender neutral outfit for all levels is a black or white t-shirt, black leggings or bike shorts, and ballet slipper. For girls, color-coded leotards by level are as follows:
Ballet I– white tank or cap/short sleeve leotard
Ballet II – pastel blue tank or cap/short sleeve leotard
Ballet III – lilac tank or camisole leotard
Ballet IV+ – burgundy or black tank or camisole leotard

On the legs, children can wear pink tights or tights that match skin tone worn under the leotard, or black leggings/bike shorts worn over the leotard. Thin ballet skirts are allowed.
Canvas or leather ballet slippers are required for Ballet I and up – pink, white, or black are all acceptable. Children with long hair should secure their hair in a bun or pony-tail. No jewelry, watches, or other accessories should be worn during class.
Contemporary Modern
Bottoms: Black leggings, joggers, or shorts
Tops: Black t-shirt, or children can wear the leotard associated with their Ballet level.

Theater/Other Classes
For classes like Story to Stage, Dance Team, or other classes that fall out of the Ballet-Modern frame, there is no specific dress code. Children can wear what they like as long as they can move freely. No street shoes – bare feet, socks, or dance shoes are all acceptable.
Capoeira
Capoeira has a uniform supplied by our parent organization, Mandingueiros Dos Palmares, that can be purchased for $100. If you do not wish to purchase a uniform right away, children can come to class in regular workout clothing,
