Then they will be joining Primal Roots for the second half. \nPrimal Roots is a dance on the North Shore that uses music and art to create an energetic journey of movement and sound. Our intention is to co-create a night of ecstatic bliss and soulful exploration of the mind\, body and spirit. This is a barefoot\, alcohol-free dance. \n$15 in advance  or $20 at the door. \nAbout Incus: \n\n\n\n\nDrawing on varying influences both musical and spiritual\, Incus stands beyond simple definition in it’s musicality and style. \nIncus expresses a willingness to embrace the totality of human emotion. An Incus performance is a gathering of people who come together to live and breathe the fullness of being alive\, to raise the energy to move toward ecstasy. The element of fire both illuminates and transforms\, and it is this energy that Incus embodies while holding space for people to acknowledge the dark and move toward the light. \nThe band is equally at home  onstage\, plugged in or acoustic\, in cathedrals with choirs\, or at fire festivals and ceremonies around the country. They have gained appreciative followings from these diverse settings. During the last many years\, Incus toured countless miles\, making music at 100’s of fires and festivals including Burning Man\, Envision Festival\, Unifier Festival\, Gratifly Festival\, DiscJam\, PermaJam\, Zen Awakening\, Devotionfest\, Boston Green Fest\, Firedance\, Boston’s Trinity Church and at various venues in the US and in Central America. \nJason Cohen\, the visionary force of the band\, has been a part of numerous healing and expressive arts rituals around the world and is the producer and artistic curator for Unifier Festival. His knowledge\, experience\, and training as a ritual facilitator becomes a part of every Incus performance. DESCRIPTION:A HEALTHY SPINE \nA healthy spine is vital to one’s ability to move freely through everyday life as well as to perform the more refined activities such as dance\, yoga and sports with coordination\, freedom and ease. Based on the principles of GYROTONIC ® and the teachings of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais\, this series will explore the natural movements of the spine and its potential to move with suppleness\, range of motion and strength.  All levels of experience are welcome. \nBio: Denise has danced\, performed and taught in NYC and Boston for over thirty years and brings a lifetime of experience to her teaching. She has been a certified GYROTONIC® instructor since 2001 and maintains a private practice in Hamilton MA\, as well as teaching group classes throughout Boston and the North Shore. In addition\, she is currently in training to become a Feldenkrais practitioner.

DESCRIPTION:North Atlantic Dance Theatre presents 1:2 An Intimate Abstraction. \nBuy Tickets! \n\n\n\nOne piece of music: Two distinguished works. \nJoin North Atlantic Dance Theatre’s Black box Ballet series for an evening of exploration to see how one piece of music can inspire two different choreographic gems. \nThe use of two choreographers to create works on the same piece of music offers audiences a brief glimpse into the mind of each choreographer showcasing the choices\, themes\, concepts each one has been inspired to create through the music. \nDelve into the minds of our choreographers and composer with a Q & A after the show! \nMeet our Artists: \nBeau Kenyon is a composer of multidisciplinary projects that expand the accessibility of new music through installations\, site-specific work\, and education outreach. He has collaborated with creative professionals at Urbanity Dance\, Boston Conservatory at Berklee\, Parsons School of Design\, and M.I.T. Co-Lab Radio. He most recently served as the Boston Public Library’s first Composer-in-Residence\, premiering new multidisciplinary work\, creating writing and sound curriculum for teens\, and a performing arts discussion group for senior citizens. \nOur Choreographers: \nColleen Edwards is a dancer with North Atlantic Dance Theatre who has been broadening her skills as a choreographer. Ms. Edwards has presented many choreographic pieces on main stages around the country including two full-length ballets. Her newest piece is a study of time and history affecting two separate people. The choice to accept ones past and move past or to cling to it therefore forfeiting their control. \nMargaret Wiss is interested in the interaction between dance and science. As a choreographer and artist she wishes to reveal the invisible motion of physical forces in the world.
