DESCRIPTION:Dance workshop with Michael Figueroa\, Director of Ruckus Dance \nThe class will consist of set exercises for muscular engagement and coordination\, high kicks\, across-the-floor improvisations (guided or task-based)\, learning of phrase material\, and some floor work. The class is designed to activate and develop intuitive/instinctual decision-making skills when moving through forms and disciplines\, improve recall of long movement phrases\, and instill a desire to take risks. Through repetition\, we interrogate action and sweat. I encourage you to treat choreography as improvisation and improvisation as choreography.
