COVID-19 guidelines for Adult in-studio Classes

We are happy to offer in-studio classes  in compliance with the guidelines and protocols from the State of Massachusetts. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with what we are doing and what we are asking you to do to make this effort a success. We are all in this together!

ARRIVAL

Reservations for in-studio classes must be made in advance.

Masks must be worn into the building, and in the lobby and bathroom.  If the class size is 8 students or under, masks may be removed during strenuous exercise in the studio when 14 feet of social distance can be maintained.

Remove and store shoes in the hallway. Personal items may be brought inside the studio.

There will be a greeter in the lobby to check students in, and a brief verbal health screening will take place at that time. It is important that no one with symptoms or health concerns come to the studio. Please opt for Zoom classes if you are in a vulnerable population or have been in high-risk situations (i.e. in known contact with COVID, recently attended large event, traveled to hot spot area, etc).

CLEANING PROCEDURES

The bathroom, door handles, and high-traffic surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected between each class. The dance floor will be cleaned and disinfected daily.

PREPARING THE SPACE

The studio will be marked with tape, designating proper distancing. All seven of our large windows will be fully open during classes, with our circulatory fans moving the air at all times. MAGMA will have only one or two classes happening in-studio per day, not scheduled back-to-back so as to streamline traffic flow through the building.  Hand sanitizer will be available in several locations at MAGMA.

CAPACITY AND CLASS LIMITS

We are capping attendance in Ballet classes to 6 students due to barre availability with proper distancing. Masks must be worn at barre. Masks can be removed for strenuous center exercises when 14 feet of distance can be maintained. For other classes, we are capping class size to 16 per class  – less than 40% our official capacity. Masks must be worn at all times during class if class size is between 9 and 16 students, so please be prepared for that possibility. There will be no shared props or mats, so please bring what you need for class.
